Tanunda → Tanunda
The first road stage circles through the stunning Barossa wine country, starting and finishing in Tanunda. Three ascents of Menglers Hill provide the climbing challenge, but this year's direction makes the climb gentler than previous editions. A wickedly fast descent leads to a flat run-in of 13km to the finish.

§ 04 — Viewing Notes
When to tune in
Sprinters' teams will control the peloton on the flat finish, but breakaways have a chance if they survive the Menglers Hill circuits. Watch for white-knuckle moments on the fast descent before the final 13km. Last year Sam Welsford won the sprint here despite a late crash.
